How to connect your Slack workspace to Formal? Formal’s integration with Slack enables you to streamline request access directly from Slack.

Connect Slack to Formal

  1. In the Control Plane, open Slack.
  2. Click Add to Slack.
  3. Choose the permissions Formal can use, then click Continue to Slack.
  4. On the Slack authorization screen, select the workspace to link.
  5. Click Allow. Slack returns you to the Control Plane, which shows the linked workspace.
  6. Restart the Slack app on your devices to clear the client app cache.
Formal supports workspace-level installs only. On Enterprise Grid, the Slack authorization screen can list your organization and its workspaces. Select a workspace. If you select the organization, Formal uninstalls the app from the organization and shows an error. Reconnect and select a workspace instead.

Permissions

All permissions are enabled by default. Disable any you do not need. To change permissions later, unlink Slack and connect again.
  1. In the Control Plane, open Slack.
  2. Click Unlink Slack integration, type confirm, then click Delete.
Formal uninstalls its app from the workspace and deletes the integration.
